Tanmaya Wahal
Music Producer, Sound Designer, Playback Engineer, Guitarist
I make music that treats sound as atmosphere rather than a series of notes, combining pop structure with textures from ambient electronic music, shoegaze, and psychedelic rock. I love the way ambient music suspends time through evolving textures, or shoegaze blurs the line between melody and noise with dense layers and effects.
My latest release, "So Into You" with Aasmi, sits at the intersection of granular and textural sound design and pop and R&B songwriting. I'm currently working on a shoegaze project called Rumor Fish that pairs those sounds with dense, guitar-based arrangements.
I work as a Playback Engineer for Berklee's Signature Series, handling playback and in-ears for shows with audiences in the thousands at the Berklee Performance Center, Agganis Arena, and the Omni Hotel in Boston. I've also helped set up playback rigs for a number of tours.
I work on sound and music for films which have been played in film festivals throughout the US. I've also done sound and music for a number of indie games.
During my internship at Hoopr.ai, I wrote tracks for sync that were pitched to Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
